Amanda Jayne Adams of AJA Ceramics is a studio potter from the King Country region of New Zealand.
Her studio can be found on the family sheep and beef farm south of Te Kūiti, a picturesque location that provides much inspiration for her work. Amanda uses mostly New Zealand stoneware clays to create functional ceramic pieces for the home.
Each piece is hand thrown on a pottery wheel, left to partially dry before being trimmed of excess clay. Once bone dry, it is bisque fired in an electric kiln, and the process is finished by glazing and re-firing.
